The Downswing

The Squat

The Squat is the first move a golfer must make on the downswing to maximize power and speed. The Squat starts just as the club has made it to the top of the backswing and you are getting ready to start down towards the ball.  The golfer will lower their butt as if they are sitting down in a chair and their knees will continue to bend (Figures 2-3).
