How to Create Maximum Ball Speed off the Club Face

Description: In this video, Matt explains ball speed and shows where the true "sweet spot" is located on the club face. Hint: It's not dead center!

Focus Points:

  • The Sweet Spot is not in the center of the club head.
  • You must hit the ball slightly above center and slightly towards the toe of the club head to get the maximum spring effect off the club and achieve the highest ball speed possible.
  • The toe of the golf club is moving slightly faster than the rest of the club head which therefore explains why the sweet spot is slightly closer to the toe.
