The Downswing

The Downswing

A common misconception is that the arms, hands and upper body start the downswing. This is not true. The downswing starts with the lower body.

There are 4 Steps that make up the Downswing:

  1. Squat
  2. Bump
  3. Turn: Hip Turn and Front Leg Straighten
  4. Shoulders and Arms

These 4 steps must be performed in the proper sequence in order for the golfer to Maximize their distance. While club head speed does not need to be increased to hit the ball further, the golfer may see an increase due to properly performing these steps in sequence.
